About the Artist
Rick grew up with an artistic flair from a very young age. He began his journey into the world of art doing colored pencil drawings of his favorite superheroes around the age of seven or eight years old. Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, and of course - Superman were the main heroes that he would draw. Although, Spiderman seemed to always be his go-to favorite because of his many infamous poses - and of course - the dynamic looking spider suit!
As he got a bit older and into his teen years, he continued drawing things that made a lasting impression on him. From musicians and other celebrities to animals and insects... his love for drawing the world around him grew into something that could not be tamed.
Eventually, when he finally reached his early 20's, Rick started a small business as an airbrush artist after taking a single lesson from a local artist that he admired. From then on, he set goals for himself to become better and better each year until he felt that he had achieved the ultimate goal of photorealism. Once he reached this place of "comfort" in his artistic abilities, he started expanding his forte' of mediums: Scratchboard, Pyrography, Oil and Acrylic Paints, and finally finding the medium that took his artistry to new levels - soft pastels!
